Master Cylinder question 91 Buick Roadmaster Hearse V8

Asked by Tom Mar 02, 2016 at 01:47 PM about the 1991 Buick Roadmaster

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 91 BR hearse, so the commercial chassis. My proportionary meter
needs to be replaced, I have heard through the grapevine that later models
had the meter replaces and the job was now done via the master cylender
and bypassed the proportionary meter.

any one know if this is true or if another master would fit, I am having a hell
of a time finding a meter valve for a 91

What kind of problems are you having? The proportioning valve sincs the system together/balances brake pressures between the master cylinder, front brakes and rear brakes. This how you are able stop smoothly. How do you know you have a bad valve? If you lost brake fluid from a part of the brake system, a lot of times you have bleed and center the proportioning valve.
