Why does the parking brake warning light stay lit? I have checked the brake fluid level, checked the emergency brake pedal, and don't know what else to check.

The warning light generally means there is a problem that needs servicing. Sometimes the lights were set to come on at certain designated intervals for general maintenance purposes. Have a Buick mechanic check it out and if nothing is wrong as him how to turn it off for future reference. It could just be a reset button, but you should make sure there is no problem first.

If it was a faulty E-brake switch it would ding when you put it in gear. Its definitely not a maintenance switch. Take it to someone or somewhere that has a brake scan tool autozone has the tool for sale but never uses it BC the employees aren't smart. They just sell parts and talk about how cool it is to change oil.
