1997 buick park ave - replaced fuel pump 3 times because gauge reads only 3/4 full wi th full tank. drops to empty after only 20 miles. cant believe i have bad pumps. cleaned connectors, any ideas??

1997 buick park avenue fuel gauge reads 3/4 full when tank is full and drops to empty after 20 miles. replaced pump 3 times to no avail. wrong pump for car or ??? Delphi fg0041 pump used.

The fuel pump has little to do with the fuel level sensor. I could attach some photos but my computer with the pictures is in the computer hospital....You have a bad sending unit...depending what is wrong it might be fixable or you may need a replacement
