what is the clicking noise in the dash of my 2005 Buick Lesabre

No, not mice. Also in is not the hot/cold flap actuator because it has been taken out and the clicking continues. I tested the actuator on the bench and it works. I cannot figure out where the noise is coming from and I can not figure out how to test the circuit that acutates the acutator.

mine turned out to be a gear clicking against another gear in the trip section of the odometer.. Last time i tried to rest the trip to 0 the numbers stopped turning. When stuck creating an annoying click that lasted for about 1000 miles until it came free.
