Why won't my spare key will not crank my 2005 Buick Century?

My spare key is not from the
factory but it has crank my 2005
Buick Century before now the
security light blinks in the car will
not crank

Looks like the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) is failing OR the ignition switch is failing (BTW there is a TSB for your car specifically related to the ignition switch).
