2007 & 2008 Toyota Tundra
We are thinking about getting a new Toyota Tundra. Our concern is whether it can handle the constant load we carry on our trucks. We usually have at least 3,000 to 3,500 pounds of tools, toolboxes and materials on our truck and sometime need to tow a flatbed trailer with materials. Can this truck hold up under these conditions?

Of course- they built it to compete with domestic full size trucks- did you see the commercial with it pulling 10,000 pounds up from the side of a cliff? I heard it had safety straps, but it was actual footage.
NO. It's a half-ton truck. It might be able to tow a decent amount but it can compete with an HD Silverado or F-250. Max payload of any configuration is just 2000 lbs. http://www.toyota.com/tundra/specs.html They are also awfully expensive compared to others.

if your loaded down like that all the time a three quarter ton would even be over worked. one ton is 2000,lbs i dont know what your driving now but i would never load down my f-1504x4 the way your talking i'v tryer and it screams for mercy like a lil-girl.you have to remember allso as "18tandsvt" stated max payload,no matter what they say you can haul or tow your only good for a combind totol of 2000,lbs you should be looking at a one ton truck "f-350,3500 gmc or chevy,dodge 3500 seires.

We have an 05 tundra , with over 60 thous , and it took a beating when overloaded . Both the front and rear shocks needed replacement , as the lower bushings completely hammered out . the rear differential needed new bearings , and the front wheel bearing hubs were also replaced ( noisey ) This is a good truck for weekend trips to the local Home Depot , but not much else. a better choice would be a 3/4 ton truck ( GM , Ford ) Stay away from the Hemi Dodge........a real gas guzzler !!
ok every one we have all seen the commerical,s on tv about the tundra 0 to whatever pulling 10,000 poundsup a sky lift then going down to stop 10,000 lbs looks to me stops on a dime. and the one where a box container falls off a clift still stops on a dime. then pulls it up without even spining a wheel.what is the one about 40mph to 70 mph when the sliding doors close.come on how stupid doose toyota think we americans are. mabey they should use their trick cameras in NASCAR.bet m.waltrip would use it.
As far as towing goes, sure. but I dont know about when its loaded down like that. I own a 08 tundra with a V6 and can easily tow a 3000 lbs camper, but ive never loaded mine up with 3000+ lbs gear. Id ask the dealer or go online to ask that one. really though I'd recommend going up to a 1 ton truck- F350 or Chevy 3500.
3000lbs "on the truck" would be too much if you are talking about in the bed of the truck. You will need a 3/4 ton truck to do that on a regular basis. If by "on the truck" you mean in a trailer behind the truck then 3000 to 4000 lbs will be no problem whatsoever for this truck.
a few years past now, what ever happened with that load you were going to put on your tundra is it been scrapped , what else you been doing with your vehiciles lately?
Will Toyota Ever make a 3/4 ton or heavy duty truck? I don’t want to trade in my 1492 for a 3/4 ton of another maker.
