How come my mileage isn't matching the color of the arrows?

This morning while I was driving to work and the display showed all green or all yellow arrows, the mileage was reading really low instead of 99.9.  Why was this?  Has this happened to other people?  Do I need to go to the dealer?  I have only had my car for a month and a half.
