Why does my 1991 ford f-150 lariat xlt use up more gas than what is should? Im only getting like 8 miles a gallon..

also check plugs and wires. sometimes these go bad over time and, due to the firing not being at proper intervals, some of the gas won't fire. it is then discharged and wasted. replacing them will clean up the timing and firing and increase fuel efficiency. hope this helps
