I was on my way home and the truck began to
whine, when I came to a stop, it shut off after a
moment and was hesitant to restart but did. It
continued to whine, then when I arrived at home, I
shut it off and it was again hesitant to start, I
repeated this once more and it stopped starting. It
sounds like it’s trying but won’t quite turn over.

any icon lights (batt.) come up on the dash ? Sounds like the serpentine belt is riding on a seized pulley . When the belt breaks thats usually why
No new dash lights came on, check engine was already on for an o2 sensor, battery gauge read normal. I couldn’t see anything wrong while it was running, but that would make sense as to why it won’t fire up again.

if it cranks slow it's a weak batt. or corroded elec. connections , What was the whining noise ?
