If you change the key cylinder on the vehicle, which comes with a chip key, it has to be programmed. Locksmiths can usually do it. A new cylinder and key without a chip will not work.

They put a new alarm on my truck and they remove the chip from they key. Years later I change the intake manifold and start having problems with the electric system. I tuck the truck to the alarm place and they recommended to remove the alarm. Now that they remove the alarm my windows, inside lights, radio, windshield wipers, cruse control, etc. Doesn't work. It this have anything to do because the key doesn't have the chip?
