In the oil pan. Is the pump bad or is the engine worn out?
If you can't find the oil pump then please don't attempt a repair. Which engine do you have?
It's a 4.6 but I’m trying to figure out if a bad oil pump would cause my truck to not start
The oil pump is driven by the crankshaft and is located inside the timing cover. I would not be likely that it would prevent the truck from starting.

i just got a 1996 f150 with 143000 miles on it. it has not been serviced regularly. the old owner used 15W40 in it. it is a gas motor. i want to change it to 10W30 to help starting on cold mornings....
