Matching years?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1984 T-bird with 3.8 v-6.  It has 90000 original miles and I am thinking of buying a 1986 T-bird for parts.  Does anyone know if these two years are compatible with each other.  I don't think ford changed the bodystyle until 1987 but I am not sure.

Thanks

I think 83-88 for that generation, but I'm not sure... someone will likely correct me

i belive you are right, but i would take a look at the other car to make sure.

no! the 86 tbird has TPI injection, two injectors in the throltle body, you would have to get th ecm, pcm. if you are going to that much trouble why not put a 5litre 302. i owned an 87 tibird that was a 3.8 v6, then a 5litre. the swap tp a 5litre rebuild would give you more fun

yo, its TBI, throttle body injection, not TPI, tune port injection.
