I have a '78 Thunderbird 351- and lovin' it- is the engine rebuilt the way you want it? If not do that at the same time- go with the 4-speed toploader tranny- try fastbackstack.com these toploaders were used in Nascar of the period and they may be the toughest 4 speeds ever built- like I say rebuild that engine for speed- stock it is only putting out 220 HP and will drag that 5000 pound car to 60 MPH in 10s- you can do better than that! Think NASCAR baby
