I believe it's on the passenger side inner front fender or the passenger side radiator core support .PBN

On the 1997 Tunderbird LX it comes with the alternator. It is a module attached to the back of the alternator, and it is included with your alternator when you purchase a new one. Because the alternator and voltage regulator should be replaced at the same time anyway, this is a convenient arrangement. You should never have to replace just the regulator on this model.

I needed a Voltage Regulator for my 1966 Thunderbird Landau...(Thank God for Napa Auto parts)...since my battery would only be charged if the car was being driven and not charge while it idol.......For my model car it was located in the engine compartment just behind the driver's head lights....

On my 69 bird the regulator was a small plastic piece mounted on the back of the alternator. It was a 69 only option, Motorola alternator with motocraft regulator.
