While moving my sliding steering wheel to the left, I pushed a little hard and a spring about 4" long came flying out, now the car will not start. Does anyone know where to attach this spring back in

The dash has to be dismantled at instramment cluster to expose column to re attach spring to starter safety switch left side of column on dash bracket.
