Does anyone have an idea of what engines can fit in my 1985 ford ranger 4x4 v6 manual transmission? Thank you!!

bought very good condition 85 ranger for $150, not running rod bearings blew.. its an old engine Im assuming. Just want to restore pretty much all.... Very New too all of this... Will add pictures soon Thank you!!!!

Instead of trying to cut and paste an engine together, I would buy a compatible crate engine. Then all you have to do is swap parts from the original to the crate. Crates will run around $1500 or so, depending on what you want. Plus you know it's new and nothing will blow up in a month or two after you've done all that work.

I'm with Reelin68. It's best to stick with the same displacement engine and crate (or remanufactured Long Blocks) come with a warranty. The Ranger is a durable - and rebuildable - little truck. The easiest and least troublesome way to keep it is to keep it stock - unless your made of time and money.
