I have a 1988 ford f150 it was working fine until one morning I tried to start it and it didnt crank it just made a click noise I tried replacing the battery but it still didnt help. Can anyone help ?

Jim. you mean put the Vaseline on the post first? Would that not insulate it from the cable?

No, David...It will actually give it a better connection because Vaseline prohibits the corrosion for one, and secondly, the lube works just like if you were standing in a tub of water and then dropped a toaster into the tub with you...It will light you up like a Christmas tree and if you don't smoke, you sure will be after that little trick...Same basic principle...;)

I have the same problem and am going to put a new starter in as soon as I find a friggin metric socket...They need to make up their minds and build vehicles with either SAE or metric and not in a combination of the 2 types to make things less complicated, if you know what I mean...Never could understand that with our American Made vehicles..

I have a ford f 150 that will not turnover. Brand new battery changed solenoid and still wont turn.
