runs/drives perfectly until you cut if off - 1 minute or 1 hour will not start -sit overnight - starts immediately and goes until you turn it off again.

Any check engine lights? Is your starter draging, lights staying bright or dimming?

their is a gray box at AC ,ignition control modgle,that sounds like your problem.it was a comon problem on all 85 ford 302.

I changed that earlier, but since I have found a large wiring harness, that lead to it, badly burned out. I wonder if all that has cratered the module. You are right that could be a problem. Those things are sensitive. Thanks, Jack

All of those appear to be strong, but...I believe I am going back and start at the beginning and check everything. Thanks, Jack

that just may be your problem,u may have a wire that is shorting out the system,u also probly need another,ICM.

I was afraid you were going to say that - they are very sensitive and a short or bad processor can blow one. I have replaced one before. Many thanks, Jack
