It is probaly a vacum problem, if you look in eklers parts book you can get the diagram for the vacum lines, which run from the headlight switch. hope this helps, thats what I found out was wrong with mine Don't know of a pump being part of the headlight doors???

    cooling fan.change d sensor right head and the one near thermostat changed fan relay still wont work if put a jumper wire between red and black wire on relay plug the fan will run
