lately my 86 monte carlo has a weird rattle noise when idle but as i step on gas the sound goes away not sure if it comin from under or something w engine ..could it be my cat convertor?

has it lost any power,if not not the cat converter,valves may need readjusting.or it could just be the crap gas we get now.

My 86 Chevy Monte Carlo L s does the rattling while driving at thirty five miles in hour, I have to hit the gas in order for it to go away. But when I slow down and the transmission kicks down to second my car jerks and the rattle get loud until it's picks up speed.
