Is there a way to tell if the car was painted in bowling green or St. Louis-perhaps by vin . number

There is no specific way to tell through the vin.... but your best bet is to take a small sample from an unnoticable area and get it matched or tested at an auto body shop.

If you look inside the drivers door on the vehicle sticker there should be an original paint code All vehicles feature this somewhere inside the drivers door if you cannot find it a local body shop should be able to

The 11th charachter in the VIN will read S for St. Louis of 5 for Bowling Green.
