battery staying charged.

I put a new battery in my 81 vette    but it seems to lose it charge and will not crank.  do you think something is draining the power? if so what could it be?

does it die setting overnight or after driving,if after driving bad altanator.if sitting live shortor bad ground.

    dead battery after install of new alternator and new battery and the lcd 5amp fuse is drawing power.
