ok guys i have a 30 over 350 flat tops 305 heads 58cc airgap intake single plain turbo 350 and 373 rearend lots of power once i get going but cant do a burn out is my cam to big 292 duration 480 lift

11.1 compression, 350 + .030 and 305 small valve size 1.84 x1.50 single plane manifold... Of course you're gonna have to TRY and spin it up. I agree that's a lot of cam for those tiny valves. I a say a true 234 duration cam would make more power. Where did you come up this engine spec combination? and gearing. Kinda odd! How about carburation not more than 650CFM right?
Auto's answer is great. The longer duration camshaft and big lift was meant for higher rpm's. You will then lose normal streetability, and low end torque. At high rpm there is enough air flow to keep the air/fuel mix coming in to the combustion chamber, however as rpm drops, some of the mix will actually get pushed backwards and thus that really cool ga,ga,ga,ga,ga,ga, loping idle sound. Hope this helps.
You need a high stall speed torque converter to get the engine into the power band. 4:10 gears would help also. That cam is pretty big for an automatic.
