i have a 85 impala and my oil light came on today. i checked the oil and i have enough what other reason would cause it to turn on

low oil pressure if the light stays on you should take it to get serviced as soon as you can. some of the more common problems could be a bad oil pressuer switch or worst case senario your oil pump could be bad.

Try installing an oil pressure gauge, see what pressure you have and compare it to specs. If it is low, your engine probably has a lot of internal wear. You can try using Lucas Oil Stabilizer to raise the pressure, but this in not a permanent repair.

I have a 2002 impala and my engin light comes on saying. Service low coolant and oil but i had it do.
