How do I fix my park gear so my car doesn't continue to roll when I put it in park?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I put my car in park it continues to either roll backwards or roll forward. Also when I
shift it in drive it's lined up with neutral N instead of drive D.

Check the linkage. You may have lost a plastic bushing which is giving it just enough play to not shift quite right.

Sounds like your linkage needs adjusting.. It's not fully in PARK. That's why it rolls You should always set your parking/emergency brake 1st. Then put it in Park
