dont know. to figure out fill the gas tank all the way up and record the milage, then drive the car a distance of about 100 miles or more, then refill your gas tank. write down the amount of gas used and the new milage. subtract the old milage from the new milage then divid the distance traveled by the gallons of gas used to go that far and you will then have you current milage.

It depends on the 64 Chevy Impala because there were several different engines offered, three different transmissions, and several body styles, all of which would affect gas mileage. However, 15-18 might be a high average (low-performance models) and 8 might be a low average (especially the high-perfornance 409.) These obviously weren't gas mileage champions!
