Hello, According to Kelley Blue Book, average miles for the 1988 Chevy Blazer as of February 2007 is 96,000. It is difficult to say typical problems for an older car (especially if you are buying it used), as the condition will depend on how previous owners cared for the vehicle. If they had regular tune-ups, changed belts, and changed oil, these trucks can last a while. If not, fuses and belts tend to go. Best of luck! CarGrrl

i have a 1988 chevy k5 myself and on average i get 9 mile to a gallon and it takes close to 90-100 dollars to fill it up. i have had mine now for 6 years and i havent really had that many problem with it other the miner thing that might occationaly break or need repalcing but one cant really complain considering the age of the car. mine has been one of the mosy reliable vehicles that i have ever had.
