VIBRATION AT LOW RPM AND OVERDRIVE ENGAGED. Is there a shift kit or can the auto trans be flashed to change the computer settings?

Asked by beto Feb 20, 2007 at 10:43 AM about the 1991 Chevrolet Corvette

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

overdrive engages so early on this model and with it comes some
vibration.  Is there a shift kit or fluid additive that would help
this?  Not really needed under 60mph?

Hello, The stock chip on the 1991 Corvette is programmed to initiate overdrive at 32 miles per hour. To get away from the early engagement, you cam buy a performance chip which can switch the minimum speed for overdrive to a higher number. Best of luck! CarGrrl
