1987 corvette left headlight comes halfway out when lights turned on.???

I DON'T KNOW HOW THE MOTOR OPENS/CLOSES THE HEADLIGHT. I TJINK{GUESSING} IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING LIKE A GEAR IS MISSING TEETH, SO IT DOESN'T GO ALL THE WAY. LIKE A ZIPPER THAT'S MISSING TEETH. LOOK AT THE SIMPLEST, STUPIDEST THING FIRST, THAT'S USUALLY WHERE THE PROBLEM IS. GOOD LUCK.

thats hard, Denis could be right. but when i boiught my 84 trans am it had the same problem, but the guy i was buying it off, messed with it for a seconds and it was fixed, never had any problems after that (till i crashed it and it never came up again)...if u know anyone good with cars, have them look at it and im sure they would know, its a common problem
