The 87 Camry and later models all have electronic ignition with the coil pack in the distributor may times it is suggested to replace the whole distributor but I purchased a coil pack at autozone for $21.xx and replace it myself. symptoms are hard starting poor acceleration and stalling you also want to replace the rotor cap and possibly spark plugs and wires which if you do the work will still run $150.xx then you will need to retime the engine because to change to coil pack it is difficult to remove without removing the distributor which is located between the drivers side of engine and the battery.
