Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When starting off the car has to be in low gear and then can be put into drive, this has to
happen every time the car stops and starts to go again.

Take it to a transmission shop for service and evaluation.

I am just now buying it for my daughter for a beater car... I am gonna have the transmission checked.
