Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I opened the hood of the 2004 model (recently purchased). I am not able to manipulate the stay rod that is attached to the hood to close it? What is the right way to close it easily?

Hi kris, The hood struts are designed to keep the hood lifted once opened. These struts can go bad every once in a while and replacing them could mean up to $100 per strut. Some people purchase the wrong strut for the vehicle instead of getting the correct strut from the dealer to save money. If the hood is difficult to close you may have the wrong struts for the vehicle. I would consult your local parts store to figure out what you have on the car compared to what should be on the car. Hope this helps!
