Find the nearest audi dealer and ask them what they can do. Take your registartion and what not to prove ownership of the vehicle and they may be able to make another key for you.

Your keyfob (plastic part with the buttons) from your old key had a chip in it with a security code that allows you to open your locks and start your engine. You can ask to have a new key programmed, but if you're worried about theft, you might ask if they can reprogram the code so your old key won't work anymore. I know the newer Audi's allow for this, but I'm not sure about the old ones.
