Why cranking noise from the catalsyt pot after starting engine

Could be dumping a little fuel that doe,s not burn in engine,it will give you a rattle sound as gas goes threw cat.If sound is staying there after engine is warm,check cat. converter.

never had this problem,good to know in case I ever hear a crackling,
