you should be able to set the regulator at the psi you want.8 to 10 psi is what you want.

my truck runs on 97 psi most f 150 trucks run on 40 psi the regulator they sold me is a 40 psi unit and they say its the right one but my truck wont run with it instaled it over presurizes my fuel pump

I know all of this, that is why you need one you can set the pressure on,manually, the 8 to 10 psi on the regulator will equal the recomended fuel pressure, its math, you have to depressuresise the regulator to allow the fuel pump not to work as hard.what is wrong with your fuel system to need a regulator anyway, any mods done to the engine?

I have a 1990 ford bronco with a 351w and when the truck has been sitting after it been running its take 45 mins just to get it started once its warm it stat right away
