i have just bought a 1988 ford bronco 2 with 2.9 liter 6 cylinder can you tell me if there were problems with this engine

Hello, There are no known problems with this engine. You can check out what folks had to say here: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Bronco/1991/ However, on an older used car, the engine performance is almost entirely dependent upon the treatment the car received before you even laid eyes on it. Hopefully, the prior owner took good care and had regular maintenance and oil changes. Broncos tend to hold up very well. Yours will hopefully be on the road for years to come! man hope fully you have some sort of conection to get parts for the 2.9 Best bet is to just swap for a 4.0 I 've been doing a lot of asking around on ranger/bronco2 forums It should take only a weekend to swap if you buy the truck
