My 2006 silverado es overheating???

My cooling fans are not working till i get to 225.  
I dont know if this is normal.   
I have a silverado regular cab v6.

maybe if its a steam engine 212 degree is steam ,get a new temp sensor

212 is only steam at atmospheric pressure. Under pressure it will still be liquid. You might want to get an adjustable temp switch.
