2006 Ford HELP Damsel in distress!

I bought a new used 2006 Ford Escape with 150K miles- 3 weeks ago from a local dealer, truck serviced well for the life, by one owner etc....and all was well driving until last night.
Went to start the vehicle and the SECURILOCK passive anti theft light was flashing on the dash, the ignition was locked up and the key which worked for the 3 weeks would NO longer work to start the truck!!
I had it towed home because I didnt have a clue then what to do, the dang Owners Manual only threats of having the key(s) reprogrammed! YIKES!
But my local tow guy, who I know, and I used the spare key and the truck started right up!
WHY did this happen?
Should I be concerned?
WHAT do I do so that both keys work and this doesnt happen again?
Some sort of computer service needed?????
Also the Anti-Theft indicator light is STILL flashing on the dash even when the truck is in park! BUT the spare key starts the truck?
Dont even want to try the key that didnt work last night and havent....
Please HELP!

It is possible that one of your keys went bad and needs to be replaced. Never throw your key or handle it roughly as they can be damaged. I would recommend getting a replacement for the key that does not work.
