how would i remove the air compressor from a 2006 ford f150 stx?

my air compressor is constantly shutting off and on, does not blow cold air, and
won't take free on. how would i replace it?

It will not take refrigerant in the system if the compressor is going on and off, it needs to run steady. I think the compressor still good, there is a pressure switch that maybe failing and I would see if you could jump the pressure switch and see if that helps...

If you know someone who has a vacuum pump to service the AC, hook up a set of gauges and pull a vacuum on the system, could take thirty minutes or more. Then turn off the pump and note the reading on the dial. Leave it set for maybe thirty minutes then read the gauge again. If the dial moves from vacuum then you have a leak which must be located and repaired. If the vacuum holds then that part of the system is good. Recharge the system and you should be good to go.

You really do not want to bypass the switch for any length of time. Doing so sould over pressureize the system causing more damage. You really have to get access to a set of gauges, reading the numbers, which will point you in the right direction. But - bypassing the pressure switch is the same as bypassing any other switch, simply eliminate it electrically.
