Our truck will start up every time but won't stay runing UNLESS we keep our foot on the gas pedal

I got in the truck one day it started right up drove then died, it stared right up again but then dies. It will stay running if i keep my foot one the gas and keep applying it. When i am at a stop sign I have to keep a foot on the brake and one on the gas so it won't die..
HELP what is the provlem

okay, is this COLD or HOT or either...in any event am going to suggest the TPS or thottle position sensor is worn or defective~
