Question type: General

What is the top speed for the 2007 Ford F150 with the 5.4 liter Triton V8?

Hi hogtyd, Although your speedometer does have a maximum speed that your vehicle is eligible to perform, I seriously doubt that it will reach this value. Domestic (stock) vehicles are normally rated at about 80% of the maximum speedometer reading. Please remember that aftermarket modifications and upgrades can sometimes drastically change the top speed of any vehicle. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Talked to my service tech at the dealer and the electronic speed limiter is set at approximately 95 mph on the 5.4 liter Triton. He says that's all the faster the government wants us to go!!! He also said I can't tamper with it until the warranty is up or it will void the factory warranty. There are tons of aftermarket "fixes" however that can reprogram the limiter to higher configs. Hope others can benefit from this.

Most trucks are limited to 95-105 MPH. I believe that to Dodge does something like 111.

I have always owned pickups. I also spent 3.5 decades in lawenforcement and taught driving techniques to the recruits. Pickups are nice and fine on straight and level highways. Oversteer just a smidgen at 80 or above in a stock pickup and you are going to loose the rear end. Then the fire department will be using the jaws of life trying to retrieve the human goo from the tangled mess. And a couple of guys like me will be standing on the side of the road asking the question: Is it a Ford? Nope, I think it's a Chevy. With still another stating it appears to be a Dodge. You want to go fast, buy a sports car with nailed down suspension.

I have an 07 and my stock speed limiter was set at 114 I have had it reset to 175 and the rev limiter as well as the rest of the truck is stock and I reached 157 before it started bouncing on the rev limiter take in mind this was at a strip I never recommend a top speed test on the street

Don't know about actual figures on what they are actually suppose to do, but I have had my 2001 f150 4x4 extra cab (not 4 door just extended cab) with the little 4.6 triton with about 70,000 miles on it and 5 speed trans doing a bit past the 100 mph mark, but by how much it's anyones guess because the speedo doesn't go any higher, and the needle was just enough past it that there was no real telling, this was on perfectly flat long strait highway, and there was no way in hell that I was going to let the older chevy that I was racing get around me, and he didn't, I was kinda proud of my little ford that day to say the least.

My 2010 F150 XLT Super Crew cab 4x4 completely stock, shuts down at 96mph at 4100 rpms.
