will a 1974 rearend from a ford torino fit in a 1964 chevelle? If not can you tell me some other compatible makes and models. I am looking for a rearend to fit into a 1964 chevelle

Hi, If you have a flaming knife and a mig welder you can swap over anything. But some things you will have to look at first... #1 width of the unit form inside the backing plates. Is it wide enuff or to wide. And the width of the spring mounts.You can get after market spring mounts that can be welded into place for the proper fit. #2 Shock mounts. Pretty much same as the spring mounts..#3 the yoke.. You MAY have to get whats called a bastard U- joint. Thats a U-joint that has 2 diffrernt size..
