Car start

Asked by Guru993QH Jun 02, 2017 at 11:02 PM about the 2003 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 camery. It
started out taking a second try
at turning over.  This only
happend once un a while. Then
I went to start it one morning
and it was like my battery was
dead but lights, stereo and all
other electrical works.
About a week later I was
getting somethung out of it
and decided to try to start it.
To my amazement it started.
I drove it a few blocks and
when I went to park it started
to die on me. I decided to take
it straight home and half way
there as I was coming to a
stop at a light it died. Wouldn't
start again.

when you say it doesn't start you have to tell us weather it turns over (cranks) or not , scan for codes even if the light ain't on , make sure the batt. terminals are clean and tight , the no start and the stall could be two different problems .

if the batt. is charged and the connections are good then it may be the starter , there may be a starter relay for this car too you might hear it click when you hit the key , you'd have to see if the starter is getting power when you hit the key but to do that you're so close to having it out you might as well replace it , you could use a multi tester for the relay is there is one , one wire will got o the starter solenoid and you could power that and see if it cranks .
