I can understand your frustration. Subaru uses the same bucket tappets as Toyota, I scoured the net looking for the tool. The dealer has 100 of them but won't sell you one because then you have to pay them to shim the buckets. It can be done without the tool but means a TON of extra work, you have to take the cams off. This sucks and A Subaru dealer should sell you the tool, very bad PR but not that many people will ever need it. Shame on Subaru .... and the Toyota shim installation tool won't work on Subaru
