We have a 2006 Saturn Vue 3.5 liter with 100,000 miles. I believe the timing belt snapped. What I don't know if it is an interference style motor. Do I have to worry about the valves?

Is that the Honda motor? I'm thinking all Honda Motors are interference type, could be wrong. If so, you will need some work to be done to the engine. New heads. If it isn't an interference motor you should be able to turn it over with the starter, if not, then it probably is. Too bad it went at 100k, usually you get 10- 15k more. I still wouldn't turn it over though to check with the starter, if their is a way to remove the spark plugs and turn it over by hand on the flywheel that is the way I would check.

Looks very extremely likely it is and interference. Which makes sense interference are more efficient by getting the valves down into the combustion chamber for more efficiency. http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php? &p=950022#post950022
