mph indicator light displayed on instument panel

I have a 2003 Porsche Carrera 4S.  The mph indicator light has come on intermittently.  The manual says that the selected speed limit for the acoustic warning signal has been exceeded.  is this something I should be concerned with?

I think this just means you are driving faster than the speed limit warning you have set in the trip computer. Turn it off or make the limit higher using the lower left stalk by the steering wheel.
