when engine warms up the rpms run high and low also during this time when I turn on my headlights the engine will shut off

make sure your charging system is working, if ur alternator is junk its pulling down hard on the battery when the headlights are on and the comp doesnt have enough power and kills the car

my grand prix did this, it was just corroded battery connections, causing the engine to only run off the alternator and when there was the extra load the alternator could not keep up. try cleaning the connections , that should do it. always try the simple stuff first
