1990 transport troubleshooting help needed

Asked by Usamomm Jan 11, 2008 at 10:44 PM about the 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The van ran sometimes but would start bogging out even at high speeds. Sometimes you could feather it out with gas. If you shut down for about 3 minutes it would work again. Now, it turns over but does not start.

have you checked your coil pack? My 3.1's and 3800's have had simalier issue and this was the solutions, plus I did a complete tune up. The other thing is you might have a fuel pump issue, When you turn the key (but dont start it) can you hear a humm from the fuel (rear)tank? hope this helps.

I WOULD TRY REPLACING FUEL FILTER AND THROUTLE POSITION SCENSOR

Yes, check coil and tune-up, throttle position sensor, and fuel pressure. These are excellent starting points for your problem.
