96 pontiac firebird formula 5.7l engine. the car will get you to point a but when you cut it off it will not start til it cools down why?

Is their only 1 alarm installed in the car? You don't have an aftermarket alarm installed in your car on top of the factory alarm do you?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the starter solenoid. Also, could be the ignition module or some high tech relay as James suggested.
