Can a locksmith fix the rod that is in the ignition switch if the rod is not engaging? If he puts in a new ignition

nah...just replace that~ Bet you could find someone to do it for more money that what the damned thing is worth...is what I'm getting at~ Firebird...what are you kidding? a dime a dozen (not really but common)~

had a dealer do my former 89 riviera.. it costed about 300-500 to get fixed. the car started intermittently.
